Born and bred in Brisbane, Adam started his music career through a love of the Beatles which began at the time of John Lennon’s murder on December 8 1980. Shortly after this pivotal moment, Adam asked his father to teach him to play guitar, and frustrated at his attempts to handle his father’s adult size guitar at age 8, didn’t really pick it up and play seriously until age 15.

In November 1989 Adam was taken along to a Bee Gees concert by his father which was the catalyst to his decision to follow a musical path. Making his way down to the front of the stage, standing directly in front of Barry Gibb, Adam credits the moment Barry looked down at him while smiling and singing You Win Again as the turning point for deciding what his future path was to be. The next day, Adam wagged school, got out his father’s guitar, and started singing, practicing, and writing songs!

Through a workmate at the fruit shop where Adam worked, he was introduced to some musicians looking for a singer, and a covers band called The Chase was formed in 1990. Adam was thrown into the deep end instrumentally, moving to lead guitar from rhythm guitar, and learned this craft fronting the band as singer and lead guitarist until it broke up at Christmas time in 1992. The Theory started up almost immediately after this, firstly as a trio and then as a duo. After being encouraged to go along to a solo acoustic act at Her Majesty’s Bar in 1990, Adam was inspired by Niki Phillips’ independent performance singing acoustic classics, and he then worked hard to design and devise his own solo sets.

In June 1994 Adam performed his first solo gig at The Stafford Tavern, and began his full time music career in solo, duo and trio acts.

After a solo gig at Dicey Reilly’s in January 2005, Adam received a request to perform with the Abba Tribute Show Dancing Queen. After learning the songs and rehearsed dialogue within 6 weeks, even dreaming Abba chords and lyrics, Adam went on to perform in the show for 7 to 8 months. Adam then went on to perform in several different Beatles tribute bands on cruise liners and overseas, including The Beatnix, and has followed on from this experience to create his own tribute show Imagine, The John Lennon Experience, giving him the opportunity to sing the songs of one of his music idols.

In recent years Adam has also had the opportunity to perform in a Bee Gees Tribute Show (although not as Barry!), which rounds off his greatest musical influences.

Adam is available in solo, duo and trio formats, and as part of his John Lennon Tribute Show creation.

An accomplished performer at international festivals, stage performances, and long term local pub and club scene experience, Adam is a professional with a solid set choice designed for an enjoyable function, event, party or wedding.
