Modelled on the national success of “Long Way to the Top” Eddie Daniels and his crew steer their way through Australia’s greatest musical memories.
The first half opens with the theme music to Donnie Sutherlands 70’s TV show “Sounds Unlimited”, the brilliant vocal harmonies of the Bee Gees ”Spicks and Specks” sets the mood and leads to the best of Australia’s own, J.O.K followed by Billy Thorpe’s Classic Ballad “Over the Rainbow” as performed at the Sunbury Rock Festival.
Eddie Daniel’s vocals are superb at capturing that classic 60’s falsetto sounds.
Australia’s country heritage is not forgotten with a featured tribute to our country music with James Blundell and Slim Dusty – the audience need to brush up on their gum leaf blowing technique to participate. The classic Rock and Roll raspy voice of Guitar/ Vocalist Stewart Harvie sets the scene for the set by finishing with the “Easy Beats” and the unforgettable classic Evie… parts 1, 2 and 3.
The show explodes in the second set with costume changes to the ugly 70’s, yes that means Platform Shoes, Flares and Mullets but the music makes up for the bad taste in fashion.
The audience rocks with Hit after Hit from AC DC, Brian Cadd, Daddy Cool, John Paul Young, Sherbet, Ted Mulry and many more.
The great Aussie characters will rise to the occasion when patrons are encouraged to participate by thong clapping with Aussie branded thongs, gum leaf whistling and wearing the traditional fly proof cork strung hats, all supplied to create that special feel that can only happen when Aussies party.
The show is bound together beautifully by Suzie Lee on Keyboards/ Vocals, Trevor Williams Lead / Vocals and Billy Bright on Bass, Stewart Harvie lead vocal/ lead guitar and Eddie Daniels lead vocals/ rhythm guitar, all topped off with superb production and that great “Aussie” can-do attitude.
